A Queen Supreme

Sandra Bland: A Queen Supreme

14.5 x 9.5 in. edition of 10 giclée prints.

A Queen Supreme is a dedication to Sandra Bland who will forever exist in our spirits. This piece is a dedication to all who have came before, and all who come after, that have dedicated their existence to fighting for what is right. Be it through visual art, literature, speaking, activism, or legislation; as creatives it’s our duty to excite change in the world around us.

A Queen Supreme is now a part of the permanent collection of the Houston Museum of African American Culture. A limited number of signed and numbered giclée prints are now available for purchase.

Be sure to experience the behind-the-scenes look at what happened to Sandra Bland, an African-American woman who died in police custody after a routine traffic stop on the HBO documentary Say Her Name: The Life and Death of Sandra Bland

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

18 in. x 24 in. acrylic on canvas original.

Lauren Noelle Hill (born May 26, 1975) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer and actress. She is often regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time, as well as being one of the most influential singers of her generation. Hill is credited for breaking barriers for female rappers, popularizing melodic rapping and for bringing hip hop and neo soul to popular music. She is known for being a member of Fugees and her solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which became one of the best-selling albums of all-time. Hill has won many awards, including eight Grammy Awards, the most for a female rapper.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is one of my early additions to my Art of Music series. Now available for purchase at HMAAC.
